Oluwafunmilola Salami has spent over a decade in the legal profession, steadily shaping his reputation as a dedicated practitioner with a passion for corporate and commercial law.
With an LL.B from Lagos State University and a BL from the Nigerian Law School, Kano, he went on to earn advanced degrees including an LL.M from the University of Lagos and a second LL.M in Maritime and Commercial Law from Lagos State University.
His professional journey is marked by both depth and diversity. Over the past 13 years, he has gained extensive experience in litigation while nurturing a strong bias for corporate and commercial practice. He has a special focus on insolvency, receivership, and the recovery of toxic loans involving multinational companies and high-net-worth individuals.
In 2015, he founded *The Maverick Forte Legal Epicentre*, a firm dedicated to commercial legal practice. The firm’s expertise spans real estate and property, immigration, matrimonial proceedings, and aviation law. Based in Ikeja, Lagos, the practice has become known for delivering value-driven services with a consistent emphasis on excellence.
Oluwafunmilola’s career has been shaped not only by the cases he has argued but also by his early years serving as a Judicial Assistant to Judges, where he developed the ability to quickly discern the potential of matters before the court. He has successfully prosecuted several civil and criminal cases to favourable judgments, reinforcing his belief in the remedies that the law provides.
Beyond the courtroom, he is also an author. His published work, *Determination: The Pivot of Destiny*, received commendations from *The Punch* and *The Nation*, reflecting his ability to inspire both within and outside the legal profession.
Currently pursuing a Ph.D., Oluwafunmilola is determined to attain the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria within the shortest possible time. He remains committed to using the law as a tool for social engineering, even as he continues to navigate the challenges of the profession such as unanticipated adjournments, poor ICT infrastructure, and limited opportunities for younger lawyers.
When asked about his greatest accomplishment, he speaks with simplicity and clarity: “To be healthy. To remain healthy.” For him, success is as much about personal well-being as it is about professional milestones.
His advice to aspiring colleagues is straightforward: “Believe in yourself. Go for it and don’t look back.” And his personal motto captures his philosophy of life and work: “Whatever you are, be a good one.”
With a career rooted in excellence and a future still unfolding, Oluwafunmilola Salami continues to embody the values of resilience, determination, and service that define the very best of the legal profession.
