From Sola Ojo, Kaduna

in the aftermath of fresh killings in troubled parts of southern Kaduna, at the weekend, the State Security Council has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Jema’a and Kaura Local Government Areas, with immediate effect.

The action, according to a statement by Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s Special Assistant (Media and Publicity), Samuel Aruwan, became necessary to protect life and property and avoid further breakdown of law and order in the two councils.

All security agencies on special operations in the two councils were directed to ensure strict compliance.

Only essential workers and those on humanitarian services are allowed movement after due clearance by security agencies.

Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports indicated there was pandemonium in Kafanchan, headquarters of Jema’a local government, after sporadic gun shots by unidentified persons.
