The flagship of Governor Charles Soludo’s political structure known as Soludo Support Group (SSG) has sacked its former National Coordinator and Convener, Mr Chinedu Nwoye, who doubles as chief of protocols and deputy chief of staff to the governor.

The expulsion followed unconfirmed allegations of embezzlement of funds, highhandedness, usurpation, misrepresentation and refusal to apologize to the body over a resent press statement he was said to have authored against the leadership of the SSG, which the group considered as misleading.

Moving the motion for Nwoye’s expulsion alongside seven other persons, the Njikoka/Dunukofia/Aniocha Zonal Coordinator of the SSG, Prof Ike Morah, noted that Nwoye’s dispositions had continued to be an embarrassment to the group and frowned at his refusal to apologize as directed by the Board of Trustees, the directive which was made through a message said to be written by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the SSG, Nze Eze-Omenyilioha Basil.

The Idemili Zonal Coordinator of the SSG, Dr Okolo Ikechukwu seconded the motion.

But Mr Nwoye popularly known as Glamour, described his expulsion as illegal and of no effect

The SSG alleged that Nwoye tried to usurp the powers of the national coordinator and the BOT by calling for meetings and holding what it described as clandestine gatherings through which he was said to have attempted to misinform and mislead the public.

The group also noted that his expulsion together with others was the only way to strengthen the body and restore sanity.

Other members of the SSG that spoke insisted that Nwoye who allegedly refused to account for funds paid through him in the course of the group’s efforts towards the 2021 governorship election must be expelled and made to refund all the money.

Following the strong position of the members, the national leadership of the SSG with Sir Arinzechukwu Awogu as the national coordinator, pronounced Nwoye expelled from the SSG together with those who aligned with him.
