A non-governmental organization, Sokoto Professionals Network (SPN) has set 10th June, 2023 as the D-day for its formal inauguration, swearing-in of Exco members and registered professionals in Sokoto state.
This was contained in a letter of invitation to the general public, a copy made available to Journalists in Sokoto on Monday.
According to a statement released to Journalists by its Director, Media and Publicity on 24th April 2023, quoted the Chairman of the Incorporated Trustees of Sokoto Professionals Network, Engineer Zayyanu Tambari Yabo as saying the formal inauguration of the organization and its members is to be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023 in Sokoto.
Yabo explained that in the two years’ membership drive of the organization, huge successes have been recorded with hundreds of professionals of Sokoto origins being registered both at home in Nigeria and abroad.
He added that the aim of establishing the Network is to partner and collaborate with stakeholders for the development of the state, promote and enhance sustainable professionalism, and through advocacy and reorientation programmes.
Engineer Yabo, furthermore, said the Network also aimed to build capacity and human resource development as well as initiate projects and programmes that would develop skills and scholarship activities amongst Sokoto youths irrespective of their status or gender for state and nation-building.
The Chairman also said the Network would among other objectives seek to promote development in professionalism among professionals of Sokoto State origin in the field of sciences, humanity and arts both in Nigeria and globally.
