As a woman, it is not very alien to feel stunted, parked and put on a shelf. At such times, it seems that the entire world is flourishing and functioning at its peak while you feel like one insignificant dot in the universe, moving along unnoticed. However, you can choose to linger in such negative and depressing thoughts or you can choose to do something about it.
I understand that a lot has happened to you; too grievous to talk about, but I will want to let you know that there are so many people who have gone through worst stuff than you have gone through and are still surviving; not just surviving, but thriving happily and maximizing their productivity.
My father, Marcus, told me when I was a little girl, “Show no weakness for the world has no pity”. These words strengthened my resolve to fight for my dreams and destiny. Permit me to say same words to you today, “Show no weakness for the world has no pity”. You cannot afford to sit down there and keep cooking up excuses that support your dormancy and laxity in life.
You cannot afford to have such success-limiting and destiny-sabotaging thoughts because you were created for so much more and your life matters a lot. You were born for such a time as this because you were meant to make a tangible difference in this life; and there are so many people whose success in life is tied to the discovery and deployment of your potentials. Therefore, in order to ensure maximization of your potentials and productivity, you have to destroy that imposter syndrome you seem to have nurtured for a while now.
You just can’t give up on your goals and dreams and expect to be happy and productive. It is time to awaken the sleeping giant within you! It is time to leave your comfort zone and explore life! Your time has not passed! You are still alive and your dream cannot die, No! Not while you still breathe!
You were born for much more than this and you are inexcusable. The same time given to others who invented the airplane is given to you! The same time given to others who invented the skyscrapers is given to you! The same time given to others who invented the mighty ships in great seas is given to you! It is time for you to show the world the true stuff you are made of; your circumstances, painful experiences and present limitations notwithstanding.
It was Henry Ford who said, “Whether you think you can or you can’t, either way, you are right!” So, believe me when I say that you Can!
I am a woman whose deepest passion is to assist women and girls conquer limiting beliefs about themselves in order to maximize destiny while empowering them to discover and fulfill their life’s purpose. This is why my mind reflects deeply on the lives and accomplishments of several influential and impactful women who have broken frontiers and are trail blazers in different sectors of life.
Women like Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, the first woman and first African to hold the position of Director General of the World Trade Organization.
We are deeply inspired by Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey for the precedent they have set for a lot of women all over the world. We celebrate Great Women like Folorunso Alakija, Oby Ezekwesili, Ibukun Awosika, Tara Fela-Duroye, Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche, Uchenna Pedro, Arunma Oteh, Amina J. Mohammed, Olajumoke Adenowo and all former and present female presidents of countries all over the world; and many others whose stories are not only deeply inspiring but also challenging women and girls all over the world to look inwards and create the world they want to see.
There is something so special about a female who dominates in a man’s world. It takes a certain grace, strength, intelligence, fearlessness and the nerve to never take no for an answer!
