Vice President Kashim Shettima led a high-powered Federal Government delegation to Kwara State yesterday, consoling victims and leaders over a deadly terrorist attack on Nuku and Woro villages in Kaiama Local Government Area that claimed several lives on Tuesday, February 3.
Shettima reaffirmed President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to restoring peace, announcing the deployment of an Army battalion to the area and directing the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to partner with Kwara’s emergency agency in providing relief to affected communities.
“Your Excellency, we are here at the behest of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to commiserate with you and the good people of Kaiama and Kwara State. That tragic killing shocked Nigerians because the victims were peaceful members of the communities,” Shettima said, extending heartfelt condolences on behalf of the President and Federal Government.
He assured that efforts were on deck to ensure the restoration of peace and tranquility while noting that security operations remain confidential.
