The South East Renewed Hope Agenda (SERHA) has distributed food items, including bags of rice, garri, and cartons of noodles, to residents of Enugu State, as part of efforts to support vulnerable households and promote food security during the festive season.

Speaking at the event, the National Coordinator, SERHA, Belusochukwu Enwere, said the initiative was aimed at providing relief, strengthening unity and sharing hope with the people, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the present administration.

He noted that the Renewed Hope Agenda is anchored on people-centred governance, stressing that leadership should be measured by its impact on the lives of ordinary citizens.

Enwere acknowledged the persistent challenge of food insecurity in the country, explaining that SERHA’s intervention was designed to take support directly to the grassroots.

“True governance is not measured only by policies and statistics, but by how those policies translate into relief, dignity and improved living conditions for the people. Today’s exercise reflects that commitment of Mr President.

“This distribution is a symbol of care and responsiveness. It is our modest contribution, on behalf of Mr President, towards putting food on the tables of Enugu people during this festive season,” he said.

While noting that food support alone may not address all socio-economic challenges, Enwere said the gesture sends a strong message that citizens are not forgotten and that help remains within reach.

He reaffirmed SERHA’s commitment to inclusive development, equity, and shared prosperity in the South East, adding that the group’s vision aligns with the broader Renewed Hope Agenda to restore confidence in governance and improve citizens’ welfare.

Enwere also commended President Bola Tinubu for the establishment of the South East Development Commission, describing it as a major driver of development in the region, and praised the administration for promoting youth inclusion in governance.

He advised beneficiaries to make judicious use of the food items to support their families, assuring the people of Enugu State that the intervention was one of many engagements planned by SERHA.

The event attracted community members and stakeholders, who expressed appreciation for the timely intervention.
