The Senator, representing Enugu West Senatorial District, Osita Ngwu, has applauded Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, for his commitment to fire safety through massive support for the state fire service.

Senator Ngwu made this known when the leadership of Enugu State Fire and Rescue Service, led by its Director, Okwudiri Oha, paid him a courtesy visit in Enugu on Monday.

He noted that, as a key player in the oil and gas industry, he understands the importance of a well-funded fire service and thus would add his support to the establishment, adding that he would provide personal protective equipment, training and other firefighting equipment to establishments across his constituency.

“I am very honored to be in the midst of you because your works are known to everybody. Enugu State Fire Service has been very active in doing their job; which can be attested by all. I want to appreciate our Governor, Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for his commitment towards the establishment as well as the state.”

“As a key player in the oil and gas upstream sector, I vividly understand the importance of having a very equipped and dedicated Fire Service system and thus, would support the establishment across my constituency in my own little way.

Earlier, the Director, Enugu State Fire and Rescue Service, Okwudiri Oha, applauded Senator Ngwu for his commitment to giving his constituency and Enugu State effective representation at the red chamber.

“Distinguished Senator, we are the leadership of Enugu State Fire and Rescue Service. We are here to solicit your partnership in championing initiatives that enhance our emergency response capabilities.’

“We are here to also solicit that you use your good office to push a bill that will call for a recognition of State Fire services in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We believe that a partnership with our National Assembly members would increase our service delivery.”
