Seadogs seek police collaboration for Abuja meeting

The c, on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory Command, Ahmed Sanusi, ahead of its Quarter 3 Pyrates Working Council(PWC) meeting scheduled to hold in Abuja.

The delegation, led by NAS Cap’n Dr. Joseph Oteri and other national officers, said the visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration with the police and ensuring proper security coordination for the national event to be hosted by Sahara Deck in Abuja.

Speaking during the visit, Oteri said the association deemed it important to engage the FCT Police Command in line with its commitment to orderliness and lawful conduct.

“Our visit is to strengthen collaboration with the FCT Police Command and to ensure that our forthcoming Quarter 3 Pyrates Working Council meeting in Abuja is conducted in a safe, peaceful, and orderly manner,” he said.

He added that arrangements had already been put in place to ensure smooth conduct of the event.

“We have outlined comprehensive measures to ensure all our programmes and engagements comply with established regulations, while also prioritising public safety and effective coordination,” Oteri said.

He further noted that engagement with security agencies remained key to the successful hosting of large-scale civic activities.

In his response, the FCT Commissioner of Police, Sanusi, commended the association for what he described as a proactive and responsible step.

“We welcome this engagement and commend the National Association of Seadogs for taking deliberate steps to work closely with the Command ahead of its activities,” he said.

Sanusi assured the delegation of the Command’s readiness to provide support.

“The FCT Command remains committed to supporting lawful civic engagements and will collaborate with your organisation to ensure the success of your forthcoming meeting and future programmes,” he stated.

He also emphasized the importance of continued partnership between security agencies and civic organisations in maintaining peace and public safety.

“This visit reflects the value of strategic partnerships in strengthening community engagement and advancing coordinated security efforts,” he added.

The meeting underscored the importance of cooperation between civic groups and law enforcement agencies in ensuring effective planning and security for national gatherings in the Federal Capital Territory.
