The House Of Assembly candidates of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in six states of South West have endorsed the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu for February 25 general elections.

Addressing newsmen in Lagos yesterday, the candidate for Ikorodu Constituency 01, Mr. Anulogun Adebayo Taofeek, said the reason behind the endorsement was because of Tinubu pedigree.

According to him, though SDP has a presidential candidate, however, Tinubu remains a man to beat.

“We reached the decision sequence to our thorough analysis of all the presidential candidates including our own, their antecedents, pedigree, manifestos and broad acceptance across the country.

“From the fore-going, there is no doubt that Tinubu/Shettima combination stand head and shoulders above the rest. Our democratic history will be grossly incomplete if generous pages are not dedicated to Tinubu’s contribution to our democratic struggles and his landmark achievements as the governor of Lagos State,” he said.

Taofeek maintained that Tinubu’s consistency as a progressive democrat is worthy of emulation by all budding politicians, noting that the group observed at a close range his energetic campaign through the nooks, corners and crannies of the country.

“His message of renewed hope reverberated with all and we safely concluded that we have in him, a candidate who is ready to confront head long the various problems bedeviling our nation. A vote for him will indeed be a vote for a prepared presidency.

“We urge all our supporters in the various Assembly constituencies in the south west to come out massively on Saturday to vote for Tinubu/Shettima to usher in the Nigeria of our dream,” he said.
