An SS11 student, Daniel Melenu, from Philadelphia School, Tedi, Lagos shared his heart-warming moments of the celebration, which took place in his school premises. According to Melenu, the Christmas Carol went with various performances, which includes; singing, dancing and speeches performed by the students and teachers.
He said the hymn sang portrayed baby Jesus and dramas acted were to educate children on the effect of keeping bad company. “The event was a joyful and memorable one and I miss my friends,” he said.
Emmanuel Melenu, an JSS111 student of Ojo High School, Ojo, Lagos, shared his experience of the school’s Christmas Carol, describing it as a memorable occasion despite the challenges faced during its planning.
He noted that as a government-owned school without financial support from the authorities, each class contributed ₦1,000 to ensure the event’s success.
Melenu disclosed that the celebration featured various activities that brought joy to the students, and Emmanuel reflected on the lessons learned from the event’s drama, stating, “I learnt that you shouldn’t trust your friend. Your friend can be your enemy.”
Chisom Ndu, a student of Awake Brain School, Lagos,shared her experience of the school’s Christmas Carol, which featured singing and dancing.
She revealed that preparations for the event took two weeks of practice, although she did not participate in the singing due to concerns about her vocal abilities.
While describing the event as enjoyable, Ndu admitted she could not pinpoint any particularly memorable moment from the celebration.
