Special Adviser to Governor Sanwo-Olu on Transportation, Sola Giwa, has empowered no fewer than 500 members of his constituency with N50,000 each.

He said the empowerment initiative was part of his efforts to appreciate party members for their loyalty and support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

Giwa emphasised the need to pay back to the people, saying the gesture had been his sacred duty since the beginning of his political trajectory till date.

“If not for your continued support over the years, I wouldn’t have been here today. I will continue to seek your support to serve in higher offices.

“I will continue to serve you to the best of my ability and I will always appreciate you all and also remain committed to the ideology of the party,” he stated

Giwa urged all the members of the APC to register in the ongoing electronic registration of party members, maintaining that only committed and registered members of the party deserved better rewards.

APC chairman Lagos Island Constituency II, Alhaji Rasheed Shobaloju, urged members of the party to get registered

He stated that the empowerment programme organised by Giwa was not his first gesture, describing him as a committed member of the party with political achievements that speak louder than words.

Meanwhile, the Director General of the Sola Giwa Campaign, Mayegun Musiliu Owolabi, said the campaign train of the team is doing everything that is possible to achieve the best for their candidate.

Owolabi explained further that the 500 people that would benefit from the empowerment were drawn from each of the Local Government and LCDAs that make up the Lagos Island Constituency II.

Two of the beneficiaries that spoke on behalf of others expressed appreciation to Giwa for counting them worthy of the gesture.
