Nigerian music promoter and socialite, Sam Larry, has reportedly been hospitalised after he was involved in a fatal road accident along the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road in Lagos State.
The crash, which reportedly occurred in the early hours of Saturday, involved Sam Larry’s vehicle and a trailer. Preliminary reports indicate that the vehicle rammed into the trailer, leaving the car extensively damaged.
The accident also claimed the life of Sam Larry’s bouncer, who was said to have died at the scene before emergency responders arrived.
Photos and videos circulating on social media showed the severity of the crash, with the front section of the vehicle badly mangled, raising concerns over the condition of those involved.
Comedian and master of ceremonies Mario Wazobia drew public attention to the incident in an Instagram post on Saturday, urging Nigerians to pray for the music promoter.
“PRAY FOR SAMMYLARRY,” he wrote.
Sharing additional photos from the crash scene, Mario Wazobia added: “More photos from the early morning accident involving socialite Sam Larry and his bouncer. Reports indicate the bouncer tragically lost his life at the scene while Sam Larry has been rushed to the hospital in critical condition.”
As of the time of filing this report, neither Sam Larry’s family nor his management had issued an official statement on his condition, while authorities were yet to release details on the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The incident has triggered an outpouring of sympathy on social media, with fans, colleagues and well-wishers offering prayers for Sam Larry’s recovery while mourning the death of his bouncer.
