Rosemary Egabor-Afolahan, Director, Commercial and Communications at News Central TV, has been recognised among the Top 50 Most Influential Women in Marketing and Communications at the 12th edition of the Women in Marketing and Communications Awards (WIMCA) 2026.
The recognition was presented at the event, which was attended by professionals and stakeholders in the marketing, advertising, media and communications sectors. The WIMCA Top 50 recognition focuses on women who have demonstrated leadership, professional excellence, innovation and impact in Nigeria’s marketing and communications industry.
Egabor-Afolahan’s recognition comes against the backdrop of her work in commercial and corporate communications at News Central TV, where she has been involved in the station’s communications, commercial activities and brand positioning.
Her professional experience spans marketing, communications, media and business development, areas that have increasingly become interconnected as media organisations seek to strengthen audience engagement and develop sustainable commercial operations.
At News Central, she has also contributed to initiatives aimed at expanding the station’s engagement with audiences, business partners and other stakeholders. The award also highlights the increasing participation of women in leadership positions across Nigeria’s marketing, communications and media industries.
The 2026 WIMCA awards, held under the theme, “Give. Grow. Glow”, brought together industry professionals and executives from different segments of the communications ecosystem. For News Central, the recognition adds to the professional profile of one of its senior executives, whose responsibilities cover both commercial and communications functions.
The award organisers said the Top 50 recognition celebrates women making contributions to the development of Nigeria’s marketing and communications industry through leadership and strategic work.
