Cristiano Ronaldo has been included in Portugal’s squad for the upcoming international fixtures as new head coach Jorge Jesus begins his tenure.
The experienced forward remains part of the national team setup, ending immediate uncertainty over his international future.
Ronaldo, Portugal’s all-time leading goalscorer and most-capped player, continues to feature in the national team as the country prepares for its next assignments.
His inclusion also gives Jesus the opportunity to work with one of the most experienced players in Portuguese football as the new coach begins preparations with the squad.
According to football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano on X on Friday, “Cristiano Ronaldo will continue with Portugal national team!
“He’s been called up for the upcoming games by new head coach Jorge Jesus.”

Portugal will begin their 2026/27 UEFA Nations League campaign on September 24, 2026, when they host Wales.
Four days later, on September 27, Portugal will travel to face Norway before taking on Denmark away on October 1.
Portugal will then welcome Norway on October 4 in their fourth group-stage fixture.
The final two matches of the group stage will see Portugal travel to Denmark on November 14, before rounding off their campaign away to Wales on November 17.
Portugal are in League A, Group 4, alongside Wales, Norway and Denmark.
