The death of American gospel music icon, Ron Kenoly has drawn tributes from popular Nigerian Christian leaders and music ministers, including Nathaniel Bassey, Frank Edwards and Bishop Wale Oke.
Recall that Kenoly died aged 81 on Tuesday, according to his longtime music director, Bruno Miranda.
The Nigerian Christian leaders paid glowing tributes to the departed worship leader in separate social media posts.
Taking to Instagram, Nathaniel Bassey shared a heartfelt message thanking Kenoly for inspiring generations of worship leaders.

He said, “Dr. RON KENOLY crosses to the yonder side. Thank you for inspiring generations of psalmists like me. I grew up on these songs, and today others are growing up on ours. Thank you, Sir.”
In a similar tone, Frank Edwards expressed gratitude to Kenoly for a life of impact on Christendom.
He wrote, “Life well lived, Heavens gain. Thank you for the music, thank you for the impact! Rest well Dr Ron Kenoly.”
In a statement, Bishop Wale Oke, who is President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), described Kenoly as a “true worshipper”.
“We commiserate with his beloved family—his wife, children, and grandchildren—and pray that the Holy Spirit will comfort, strengthen, and abide with them at this critical time,” he added.
