…As Works, Social Welfare, Special Duties, Finance commissioners resign

Four other members of the Rivers State Executive Council, George-Kelly Alabo (Commissioner for Works, Mrs. Inime Chinwenwo Aguma (Commissioner for Social Welfare and Rehabilitation), Isaac Kamalu (Commissioner for Finance) and Emeka Woke (Commissioner for Special Duties)
have resigned from Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s government.

 

Their resignations came after the exit of the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Prof. Zaccheaus Adangor, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), whose own was made public on Thursday, his resignation letter took effect from November 14, 2023.

 

Their resignation letters, which were dated December 14, 2023, were addressed to the Rivers State Governor Fubara through the Secretary to State Government, Tammy Danagogo.

In their separate letters, the commissioners thanked the governor for giving them opportunities to serve state.

The Commissioner for Works, Alabo, said his resignation was based on personal philosophy and professional ethics.

He stated: “I hereby resign my appointment as the Commissioner for Works, Rivers State, effective immediately.

“My decision to resign is anchored on my conscience, personal philosophy and professional ethics. This decision was taken after deep introspection.”

Similarly, Commissioner for Social Welfare and Rehabilitation, Mrs. Aguma, said: “I thank Your Excellency for the privilege to serve in the State Executive Council. My decision to resign is personal and based on other pressing commitments.”

However, the Commissioner for Finance, Kamalu, did not give his reason for resigning his appointment.

He expressed gratitude for the opportunity the governor gave him to serve Rivers people.

It was also gathered that the Commissioner for Special Projects (Duties), Emeka Woke, has resigned. He was the Chief of Staff Government House, to former governor Nyesom Wike.
