Commissioner of Police, Rivers State, Mr. Okon Effiong, has sent strong signals to criminals to stay away from the state. He said: “I am not going to spare any effort in ensuring that the criminals are dealt with. The state will be too hot for them to operate.

“Kidnappers and armed robbers especially will be given serious onslaught from the police command. We have arrested 25 suspected armed robbers, kidnappers, fraudsters and cultists from various hideouts in the state.

“The command is not taken any chance on matter of security. Rather, we are after the hoodlums who  are terrorising the state.

The command has mapped out strategies by deploying officers to all the flashpoint areas to curtail criminals and their activities.

“We are soliciting for the support of the traditional rulers, community leaders, religious leaders and other stakeholders in flushing out criminals from the state.

“The command recovered various ATM cards, pump action  magazines  and 15 rounds  of cartridges from the arrested criminals. All the arrested suspects will be charged to court very soon.”
