Rite Foods empowers youths at Ibadan Chops and Chills 2.0 Festival

Rite Foods Limited partnered with the Ibadan Chops and Chills Festival 2.0, held on December 1, 2024 to empower youths in Nigeria.

The event, which attracted a diverse crowd of young entrepreneurs, bakers, food vendors, and culinary enthusiasts from Ibadan, Oyo State, and beyond, showcased the vibrant talent of Nigeria’s youth.

The festival served as an excellent platform for showcasing the culinary expertise of young entrepreneurs and food vendors, while also promoting the rich cultural heritage of Oyo State and Nigeria. The day was filled with food, entertainment, and excitement, reflecting Rite Foods’ ongoing efforts to foster innovation and growth among young Nigerians. It was attended by government representatives from Oyo State, media personnel, students, and food lovers from all walks of life.

As a leader in the food and beverage sector, Rite Foods has always supported initiatives that nurture talent and empower small businesses. The company’s wide range of products, including Bigi, Fearless Energy Drink, Sosa, Bigi Table Water, and Rite Spicy and Bigi Sausages, have become synonymous with creativity, entrepreneurship, and cultural expression.

The festival featured exciting cooking competitions, entertainment shows, guest tours, and vendor exhibitions, highlighting the creativity and culinary talent of the participants. Rite Foods products were prominently featured throughout the event, strengthening the brand’s ties to the local community.

The Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Honorable Wasilat Adefemi Adegoke, who was the Special Guest of Honour at the festival, commended the initiative, stating, “This initiative is one of the best I have seen. It aligns perfectly with our administration’s goals of empowering youth, promoting cultural heritage, and fostering talent. Under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, we are committed to supporting such programs that encourage self-expression and skill development.” She also pledged the Ministry of Youth and Sports’ continued support for future editions of the festival, reinforcing the state’s commitment to youth development and innovation.

The festival’s Convener and CEO of Wendy’s Kitchen, Chinwendu Festus, shared her excitement and motivation for the event. “The first edition of Ibadan Chops and Chills was a success, which motivated us to aim even higher this year. Our goal is to provide young people with the platform to showcase their culinary talents, expand their businesses, and reach a wider audience.” She also expressed her gratitude to sponsors and supporters, including Rite Foods, UBA, and the performing artists, for their vital role in bringing the festival to life.
