Rihanna blames non-voters for hardship under Trump’s administration

United States-based singer Rihanna has blamed Americans who did not vote in the 2024 presidential election for President Donald Trump’s return to the White House and the economic hardship associated with his administration.

The singer made the remark while reacting to a viral clip of an interview in which former MSNBC host Joy Reid argued that Americans deserved the financial controversies surrounding Trump’s administration because they voted him back into office.

The interview also featured journalists Charles M. Blow and Joy Reid discussing the political and economic consequences of Trump’s second term.

Responding to the clip in the comments section on Instagram, Rihanna said Americans who stayed away from the polls also contributed to the outcome.

“Believe it or not, those who didn’t vote at all also did this!” she wrote.

Trump won the 2024 presidential election against Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, securing a second term after losing his re-election bid to Joe Biden in 2020.
