Deputy spokesman of the House of Representatives, Philip Agbese, has said that the 10th House is fully committed to a better and prosperous Nigeria.
Agbese, who spoke to journalists, at the sidelines of a reception organised in honour of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation( SGF), George Akume, in Abuja, said the speaker, Tajudeen Abbas, has already set the ball rolling towards achieving an ideal nation.
The lawmaker who represents Ado/ Okpokwu/ Ogbadibo Federal Constituency of Benue State noted that the major agenda of the House is to run an open parliament focused on transparency and accountability.
The deputy spokesman listed economic liberation, a serene business environment, accountable governance, personal freedom, social capital, safety, and security, education, and health as the focal point of the House. And that members of the Green chamber are focused on actualising their promises to the electorates individually and collectively as a parliament.
Agbese, while urging Nigerians to continue to support the House in its quest to make lives better for all, stated that the lower chamber has articulated
a pro-citizen agenda that is aimed at improving the welfare of Nigerians.
He added that the 10th House, as part of efforts to enhance legislation and bring governance closer to the people, would deploy technology and regular town hall meetings to get the people actively involved in lawmaking.
