A House of Representatives aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ademola Amure, has raised the alarm over what he described as widespread irregularities during the party primary election held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, for the Epe Federal Constituency. He called for either an outright cancellation of the exercise or a comprehensive reevaluation of the process.
In a statement issued by his campaign team, they alleged that the exercise was “shambolic, massively flawed and fraudulent,” citing incidents of thuggery, voter intimidation, sporadic gunfire, and deliberate disenfranchisement across multiple wards within the constituency.
The campaign team also alleged that there was a pattern of misconduct across at least four wards. They alleged that in Ward F1, the votes recorded were more than the actual number of persons present at the polling unit, with 90% of figures allegedly allocated to one Prince Bakare Adeyinka, also known as “BIA.”
They also alleged that voters were transported from Ward F1 to Ward E1 amid sporadic shooting that drove others away from the polling unit entirely.
In Ward E1, the statement alleged inflated voter numbers as a consequence of the forced movement of voters from the neighbouring ward.

They said that in Ward E2, there was a different but equally concerning pattern, with the campaign team alleging that the entire exercise was cancelled.
Armed thugs were alleged to have been deployed to the polling unit, firing guns and ordering anyone unwilling to vote for “BIA” to vacate the premises. In Ward R1, they alleged that supporters of a local government chairman arrived at the polling unit armed with canes, threatening anyone who refused to cast their votes.
The campaign team then appealed to the party’s national leadership to activate all available internal dispute resolution mechanisms to address what they described as a “brazen affront” on democratic values. They also urged members of the public to disregard any announcements of victory from opposing camps, describing such claims as products of “political desperation” and a lack of integrity.
”In any contest, there must be an eventual winner or loser but for such a contest to stand, it must pass all integrity tests and must be fair, and seen to be fair,” the campaign team said.
