….to set up offices across 36 states

The First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu has assured Nigerians that her pet project, the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) will bring succour and relief to families in the country when it fully commences.
The Initiative was unveiled last month June 23rd at the inaugural meeting of RHI governing board members, where she said the programme would target vulnerable groups and bring them closer to the government.
At the inaugural meeting, the First Lady had stressed that
“Beneficiaries will register with the Corporate Affairs Commission and open a bank account to qualify to be considered.
”We hope to take off with unspent funds from the 2023 campaign purse after which we shall solicit for funds from private organisations, international donors and Non-Governmental Organisations.
“The programme will enable us to assist the vulnerable groups; we shall try to see what we can do to naturally meet their needs.
“We shall have zonal meetings which will involve the wives of state governors,” she said.
According to a statement issued by her Special Assistant on Media, Busola Kukoyi, Friday, the First Lady who is also the National Chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative, stated this after the second meeting of the Governing Board of the initiative held at her office at the Aso Rock Villa Abuja.
She explained that all modalities have been put in place to ensure a smooth take off of the project across the 36 states of the federation and the FCT.
She further explained that the various states and local governments will be involved as the project is all inclusive for the federation.
The First Lady pointed out the focal areas of the project to include Agriculture, Health, Education, Social Investment and Economic Empowerment.
To this end, Mrs. Tinubu would meet with the wives of state governors on Friday 14 July where the modalities for the successful implementation of the project would be made public.
In her remarks after the meeting which was held behind closed doors, Wife of the Vice President and the National Vice Chairman of the initiative, Nana Shettima, while expressing her excitement of the governing board at the project assured that Nigerians are in for better times to complement Federal Government’s efforts.
The National Secretary of the Initiative and First Lady of Imo State, Chioma Uzodinma said the initiative will ride on the wings of collaborative efforts from all sectors to enhance the lives of the ordinary Nigerian.
Also in attendance at the meeting were wife of the Senate President, Unoma Akpabio, wife of the Chief of Staff to the President, Salamotu Gbajabiamila, All Progressives Congress (APC) National Woman Leader, Dr Beta Edu and Prof. Hafsat Ganduje who are all members of the governing board.
