President Bola Tinubu will on Friday commission a series of infrastructure projects in Akwa Ibom State before proceeding to Rivers State on Saturday for an All Progressives Congress (APC) rally as part of activities to mobilise support for his 2027 re-election bid.

The two-state visit will see the President commission projects executed by the administration of Governor Umo Eno, including a new international terminal building, an airport hospital and an aviation village in Uyo.

According to a statement issued on Thursday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu will depart Abuja on Friday, November 6, for Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.

Among the projects scheduled for commissioning at the Victor Attah International Airport are the new International Terminal Building, the International Airport Hospital and the Ibom Aviation Village.

The President will also commission the Airport-Okopedi Road, which traverses Nsit Atai and Okobo Local Government Areas, as well as Ring Road 3, linking Idoro Road to Ikot Ekpene Road through Uyo and Ibiono Ibom.

Other projects lined up for inauguration include the AKWA-GIS Office Complex, the Command and Control Centre and the ARISE Palm Resort.

Tinubu is also expected to attend a political rally in the state during the visit.

Eno has declared Friday a work-free day to enable residents to participate in the reception organised for the President.

The President will depart Uyo for Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Saturday to attend the APC rally, marking his third campaign rally since he flagged off his re-election campaign in Kaduna last month.

The visits will also provide opportunities for the President to engage with political stakeholders, party members and supporters in both states.

Onanuga said the engagements would emphasise political unity, stability and a shared commitment to national progress.

The visits come as political activities ahead of the 2027 general election gather momentum, with the APC stepping up its mobilisation across the country.
