Moved by a high rate of unemployment across the country, the Eze Ndi Igbo Ifako Ijaiye, Eze Michael Ezekwobi ( (Oyiomanatumba Ndigbo Gbaagburugburu) correct above. has called on Ndigbo to return to the apprenticeship scheme, which in the past helped millions of Igbos to become successful entrepreneurs.

In a statement, the Royal Father said it saddened him to see insecurity, armed robbery, and other vices taken over the South East, which used to be cradle of small scale bussinesses

Eze Ezekwobi recalled that the apprenticeship system dated back to time immemorial as children learn skills from their parents and with colonialism and eventually independents, the scheme continued as it produces giant bussiness men like Sir Louis Odumegwu Ojukwu and others.

The Eze also calls on the federal government to partner with market leaders across the federation on how the apprenticeship scheme can be incorporated into its employment and wealth creation masterplan.

On how the South East can regain its economic prosperity, Ezekwobi calls on South East governors to come together and muster economic masterplan that could help reposition the region as the center of job and wealth creation. “South East governors can jointly pursue projects like seaport, rail line, and intrastate roads. Joint projects like this could help the region recover from havoc wreaked by years of insecurity in the region.”he says.
