Senator representing Plateau North and Deputy Chairman Senate Committee on Defence, Istifanus Gyang welcomed the verdict of the Court that reinstated Rt Hon Abok as Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly.
Gyang in a statement by Senior Legislative Aide, Hon. Daniel Dem described the verdict as a triumph for the rule of law and common sense.
He said the verdict has vindicated Rt Hon Abok and restored the dignity of the State Assembly from Executive tyranny and reckless legislative partisanship.
It would be recalled that at the onset of the illegal and unconstitutional impeachment of Speaker Abok, Senator Gyang brought the matter before the Nigerian Senate in Plenary, pointing to Executive interference and manipulation for orchestrating the unfortunate illegality.
