The Nigerian automotive industry is set to witness a major gathering of thought leaders, policymakers, regulators and industry players as the second edition of the Nigeria Auto Industry Summit (NAISU) is scheduled to hold on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) building, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.
Organised by the Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA), in collaboration with key stakeholders, NAISU is emerging as a crucial platform for shaping policies, promoting local auto manufacturing and addressing the systemic challenges stalling the growth of the Nigerian auto sector.
This year’s summit, themed “Nigeria First: Content as Catalyst for Automotive Economy”, is expected to attract key regulators like the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), and the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), alongside automakers, dealers, financiers, logistics operators, and industry investors.
According to NAJA chairman, Theodore Opara, the 2025 summit aims to create a high-level platform where policies, regulations, and industry innovations can be examined in the context of building a resilient and forward-looking automotive ecosystem in Nigeria.
“The second edition of NAISU is timely as the industry grapples with issues ranging from inconsistent import policies, weak local assembly capacity, inadequate infrastructure, to the urgent need to adopt clean energy and electric mobility,” Opara stated.
“What makes NAISU different is our focus on outcomes. We’re not just hosting another industry talk-shop. We aim to extract actionable policy recommendations and collaborative initiatives that will shape the direction of the industry over the next 5–10 years,” Opara stressed.
Also reacting, Chairman, planning committee of the 2025 NAISU edition, Mike Ochonma emphasized that this year’s summit would build upon the momentum and achievements of the inaugural edition, promising a more engaging and impact-driven experience for all participants.
