Rector, Redeemers College of Technology, charges leaders on use of sign languages

Rector, Redeemers College of Technology (RECTEM), Dr. Stella Awoh Mofunanya, has called on parents and leaders to take the lead for the younger generation to emulate in order have a fundamental society and up the standard of education in tertiary institutions.

 This remark was made   during her public lecture to commemorate one year in office of Dr. Ibraheem  Abdul, Rector, Yaba College of Technology.

In her presentation titled: Leadership and service: Need for Creativity innovation and excellence “, she charged leaders to inspire their followers to pursue collective values and aspiration as well as sacrifice egocentric needs and goals.

She noted that in the past, parents used sign language to talk to their wards. “We are all leaders, while we were growing up, our parents teaches us with signs. In your home when you have visitors, your parents have sign languages. But these days, we are losing it because of technology, she said.

She, therefore, encouraged lecturers and guardians to be at alert and watchful because some of students are going through hard times, which in turn affect their mental health.

Mofunanya, an alma mater of Yaba College of Technology, eulogized the school for its excellent performance. She also gave kudos to the Rector, Yaba College of Technology, Dr. Engr. Ibraheem Adedokun Abdul, who was inducted into the legendary Hall of Fame because of his Excellent Leadership.
