To accelerate Nigeria’s transition to universal energy access, the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) has entered into a strategic partnership with Esodora Electronics Limited, an indigenous Renewable Energy Service Company (RESCO). The partnership was formalised through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at a ceremony held in Abuja.
The agreement highlights REA’s continued commitment to leveraging public-private collaborations to expand access to clean and reliable energy, especially in unserved and underserved communities across the country.
Esodora, which emerged as a notable RESCO in 2021, has since gained recognition for deploying innovative, market-driven solutions to rural electrification. Its work aligns with Nigeria’s long-term energy transition plan and the Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG 7), which aims to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all.
“We are proud to partner with Esodora in this transformative approach. Their contributions to distributed solar deployment complement REA’s mandate to unlock sustainable energy solutions across the country”, REA stated during the signing ceremony.

The agency further noted that the collaboration is designed to deliver multiple outcomes, including the acceleration of renewable energy project development in rural regions, stimulation of private sector investments through strategic and technical support, and the scaling up of clean energy initiatives in line with Nigeria’s SDG targets.
Esodora’s Managing Director, Ifeanyi Egwu, expressed optimism about the impact of the new alliance. “The signing of this MoU validates our commitment to powering the future of Nigeria, sustainably and inclusively,” he said.
He also emphasised that the partnership would help build stronger energy ecosystems through innovation and strategic capability development, paving the way for a more inclusive and climate-resilient energy landscape.
With this partnership, both organisations say they desire to deepen the momentum of Nigeria’s electrification efforts by strengthening energy infrastructure, expanding access to distributed solar power and creating new opportunities for economic growth in rural communities.
