Star actress and philanthropist, Rachael Okonkwo aka Nkoli Nwa Nsukka is set to empower the poor through her charity event themed: ‘Mega Carnival with Nkoli Nwa Nsukka’.

The actress, who started her philanthropic work in 2015 and has been consistent with touching lives and putting smiles on people’s faces, will empower over 5,000 children and families at the event slated for April 23, 2023 in Nsukka, Enugu State.

The Enugu State-born actor underscored her aim to reach out to the less privileged and widows in the society, thus making each year’s carnival, bigger, better and more exciting.

She said: “I expect to host over 5,000 kids and families. This is our way of giving back to the society, and a means to improve the world.”

At the event, Okonkwo will give out stationaries and leisure items to kids; while widows will receive foodstuff, the youth will get empowerment tools.

“The Mega Carnival with Nkoli Nwa Nsukka will allow youth to showcase their talents, which will be harnessed for a more productive outcome,” she affirmed.

The actress regretted that the carnival suffered setbacks in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “That is why this year’s gathering will make up for the two years we laid low,” she stated.
