Queen Tim- Opurum joins APC in grand style

…As she declares  interest  to run for NINN  Federal Constituency in 2027 election

In what many analysts have described as an impressive show of love, support, and solidarity for women participation in politics;  making reference to the Reserved Seat Bill, was truly  exemplified on Wednesday, April 1, 2026,  during the official declaration of Queen Chinyere Tim – Opurum’s  membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC),  at  her Dim- Na Nume Isu ward in Nwangele LGA, Imo State.

The epoch- making event which was attended by  the leadership of the All Progressives Congress  in Nwangele local government area under the Chairmanship of Hon. Pascal Iwuala, stakeholders, opinion moulders; as the Executive Chairman,  Hon. Chief Paul Duru,  elected councilors,  ward executives,  different political support groups and women leaders, rolled the drums in jubilation to welcome in their midst an amazon, a successful business woman, and philanthropist of note— Queen Chinyere  Opurum— whose personal drive to  serve is to bridge the representation lacuna in the Federal Constituency, reach out to the masses , empower the youths , and bring back home the largese of government while amplifying the  Renewed Hope Agenda of Presdient Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

In his speech, Paschal Iwuala, the newly elected Chairman of Nwangele APC, on behalf of his executives and ward chairmen , graciously welcomed Queen Chinyere Tim- Opurum, assuring her of inclusivity in the programs of the party while appealing for active participation in its affairs as well as her support from time to time as the need arises.

Chief Paul Duru encouraged  Opurum to be resilient, consistent, and remain a loyal party woman at all times; citing himself as a good example of being patient and focused even when the  political tide didn’t favour him about 20 years ago.

Elegantly dressed with some touch of gold , the highly elated soft- speaking Queen Opurum (Opuruiche Nwanyi), in what appeared like a collective mobilization for her political ambition, thanked the   leadership  of Nwangele APC for according her such warm reception, promising to  support the party from  ward to  LGA levels  , and across Nkwerre/Isu/Nwangele/ Njaba Federal (NINN)Constituency, aligning herself with the programs and policies of the Renewed Hope Agenda both at state and national level, Njoku Macdonald Obinna , Publisher of 4th Estate Reporters , succinctly captured.

Granted she has done well in selfless community services, equipping farmers with modern farming tools, awarding educational scholarships, and giving seeds capital to small business owners, Queen Opurum promised to  consolidate on her good works to do even more for the people if given the opportunity to serve.

The youths gyrated, the women group chanted victory songs; celebrating  her enterance into the APC family, and promised to galvanize grassroots support for their new political bride who has come to change the narrative of effective representation.

Highpoint of the event was a traditional rite performed by  the Council of Nwangele Traditional Rulers under the Chairmanship of  His Royal Highness,  Eze (Hon.) Uzomah Onunenyi (Ekiti ll of Ekitiafor Abba ), as they unanimously washed  her legs , poured libations for divine protection, and blessed her political aspiration to represent the good people of Nkwerre/Isu/Nwangele/Njaba Federal Constituency, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

As the event came to a close in an atmosphere of  camadarie, friendship, and conviviality,  the honest conversation about women’s active participation in politics continues  to resonate and dominate the social  space, while Queen Chinyere Tim- Opurum has been tipped as a possible replacement for Hon. Barr. Harrison Nwadike, whom many  have accused of  lacking  the political sagacity and clout to give NINN Federal Constituency a voice  in the House of Representatives.
