The Paramount Ruler of the Tiv nation, Orcivirigh Prof James Ayatse has charged the newly crowned Tor Sankera HRH David Sev-av and Ter Katsina Ala, HRH Simon Tativ to ensure that peace and harmony return to the land of Sankera during their reign.
Orcivirigh Ayatse gave them the charge while beading the two traditional rulers in his palace in Gboko, Tuesday evening, March 18, 2025.
He cautioned them against partisan politics urging them to focus on their major roles as custodians of their people’s culture by working together with relevant authorities such as community, political and religious leaders in Sankera to achieve the desired peace and tranquility.
The Tor Tiv stressed that their emergence was a Devine arrangement by the Almighty God who has heard the prayers and supplications of the innocent blood that have been spilled and specifically selected them without any record of complacency in the Sankera crisis to salvage the land.
He equally called on political leaders and youths in Sankera to support the two kings by working with them in harmony through useful information and ideas that can possibly bring respite rather utterly complicating matters for them to perform.
Responding on behalf of Ter Katsina Ala, Chief Sev-av assured Tor Tiv and the people of Sankera that he is acquainted with the crisis and is determined to once again serve his land in a higher office of Tor Sankera.
He pledged to apply similar approaches he adopted when he was elected Chairman of Ukum and peace reigned throughout his eight years.
He commended all those that have worked tirelessly for peace to return to the land particularly Governor Hyacinth Alia and Bishop Bundepuun Dugu of Katsina-Ala Diocese and Tor Tiv pledging further to complement their efforts.
