Nigerian youth from six states of Oyo, Ogun, Lagos, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti States on Wednesday converged on Ibadan Civic Centre, Idi-Ape in Oyo State, and threw their weight behind the candidature of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) for this Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly elections.

They met at a town hall meeting, entitled: Tinubu 2023: The Push to the Finish Line, organised by  South West Progressive Youth, and powered by group known as BAT Elite Group, which comprises businessmen, who are not politicians, but want unity, inclusivity, equity and justice in the country.

Leader of the group, Mr. Wale Oladiti, enjoined Nigerian youth to shine their eyes when casting their votes this Saturday for their preferred presidential candidate, assuring them that Tinubu would secure the future of the youth I the nation when he becomes president of the nation. He urged the youth to vote for Tinubu, saying their future will be secured if Tinubu is elected the president of Nigeria.

His words: “Though I’m not a politician, but I’m here because of Tinubu. I will never stop campaigning for him untill he becomes the president of Nigeria. He is the best man for the job. This is not because he is a Yoruba man or because he comes from Lagos. Tinubu is someone I’ve known for the past 17 years. I know who he is and what he is capable of doing.

“Imagine we have the kind of developement we are currently having in Lagos State in about 15 out of the 36 states of the federation! Imagine the kind of job opportunity we would have had across the country! Let us think beyond tribal sentiments, Tinubu is the best man for the job.

“BAT Elite Group is a group of young businessmen. We believe that if goververnment puts the right policies in place, businesses would thrive. But wrong policies would affect everyone, including the businessmen. This is why we the elite group felt like we should also contribute our quota. We have come out to identify with him because we believe if good goververnment is in place, businesses will thrive and businessmen will do better.”

Former National Deputy Youth Leader of APC, Afeez Bolaji, also said: “There is no room for trial and error again. Tinubu has done it before. Nigerians should vote for a candidate that has anticedents and competence. Looking at the situation of the country, the best man Nigeria need is Tinubu. Every youth deserves a better future, and the future we are looking for can only be achieved through the candidacy of Tinubu. So, youth should go out and vote for Tinubu because he will definitely protect their future if elected.”

Special Assistant on Housing to Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State,  Lanre Oyegbola, said: Asiwaju Tinubu has the best plans for the youth. He has mentored and pushes up many youth to greater heights. We have practical examples of his gestures. So, Nigerian youth and generally young people have alot to benefit by voting for Tinubu.”

A businessman, Oladosu Oladunni, in his contribution, also said Tinubu has promised that he would ensure that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Ministry of Finance work together, arguing that the reason the country has problems with exchange rate, is because the CBN and Finance Ministry have not been working together. He added that Tinubu has also promised to merge monetary and fiscal policies together for the betterment of the country.

A female legal practitioner, Ademubo Adelabu, also urged women and young ladies to vote for Tinubu because she believes that he would ensure gender equality and equity in his administration, when he becomes president of Nigeria.
