Premiere League: Manchester United demolish Leeds United 5-1 in opening game of new season

From Emmanuel Oguike, Abuja

The new premiere league season kicked off with a bang on August 14 as new boys Brentford fc saw off Arsenal 2-0 to claim there first top flight win in nearly 74 years and it did not take long for them to reintroduce themselves back to the premiere league as they upset the gunners who where left in a shambolic state after their first premiere league outing.

In the second game of the new season Manchester United took up the challenge of knocking Leeds United off in the theater of dreams as the game promised to be an exciting one and as you would expect it was supposed to be a tight encounter.

The first goal of the game was scored by the Portuguese magnifico Bruno Fernandez in the 30th minute and we did not have to wait long for the Portugal international to get on the score sheet ,he was released with a beautifully worked ball from the mid field and then with a very brilliant pass from Paul Pogba which he clearly slotted home with a little deflection from the goal keeper who was left helpless.

As the game progressed, the team in white got their goal through one of their skipper, Luke Ayling, in the second half which restored parity to the game at 1-1 but their celebrations will be cut short as a second goal was scored by Mason Greenwood who got off the mark in sentilating fashion after a well placed pass from Paul pogba and the game was truely done and buried as the mooling began.

Then in the 54th minute the team with the array of talents were 3 goals up and with that the game had ended because there was no way back for the Leeds United team as they struggled to add to any goals from there on wards and then a fourth goal was scored again to add salt to injury to make the game a one-sided affair for the visitors who ran out of options.

And then Fred got in the action with the fifth goal of the game to dampened the hopes of a comeback which was not going to happen as the red came for blood which they got served on a platter of gold.with game throughly done and dusted new boy Jadon Sancho was reintroduced to game for his debut game but with the game thoroughly finished he had little or much to do than to see out the remainder of the minutes of the game which came to and end i the 93rd minutes with Bruno Fernandez taken home the match ball for his 3 goals competition in the game and the Manchester United fans where full of cheers for the performance put out by the Manchester United team.
