Troubled by the spate of insecurity, lingering strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), epileptic economy and other unprecedented challenges ravaging the country in recent time, the Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim is calling on the federal government of Nigeria to swiftly put an end to these aforementioned challenges and many more.

Marking his 5th induction anniversary in Lagos, the Prelate of the Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim (Worldwide), his Eminence, Baba Aladura David Bob- Manuel (Moses Orimolade IX) who decried the debilitating condition of Nigeria, said it’s high time Nigerians returned to God for divine intervention.

According to him, if Nigerians would choose their leaders across board prayerfully as general elections draw near, the current Socio-economic and political woes would be a thing of the past. He urged federal and ASUU to quickly resolve their differences, saying that prolonged interruption of university education undermines development of human capital and renders certificates obtained little or no value. “The federal government must arrest all these ugly narratives. The suffering in the land is excruciating. Our education system is in coma. Unfortunately public universities are now brought their Lowest ebb,”

With the theme of the Holy Order of the year 2022, “The Sufficiency Of God’s Grace”, the Prelate urged Nigerians to choose leaders who practically has the solution to the perennial Socio-economic, security and political problems besetting the country and vote for such fellow unbiasedly.

“All Nigerians who are of voting age must play their civic roles as stakeholders by discharging their civic duties in voting for the candidates of their choices. We all must be part of the democratic process in order to ensure peaceful transition to a new dawn.

“Nigerians have very high expectations going forward. Experience has taught us unforgettable lessons politically and otherwise. Therefore the youths must not allow themselves to be used as political thugs and hoodlums by politicians to disrupt the electoral process. It is my candid advice for all voters is to reject Greek gifts offered by the money bags politicians to cause mayhem during and after the elections or given to mortgage their future. We must use our voters card wisely, we must not repeat a mistake of the past,”

He implored citizens to earnestly pray to the Almighty God so they would not be prey to the wickedness of this world. “The world is in crises, so it is up to us to watch and pray fervently. There are much expectations from the body of Christ, thus; I implore the new leadership of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to foster Unity in the body of Christ, immaterial of affiliations, denominations or sects.

“INEC must deliver a clean clear elections that must be generally accepted to be fair and credible. History will never forget what we do here on earth while we lived. The interest of a single individual or a selected few should not override or dominate the interest, desire and expectations of the general citizens, thus; INEC must take heed, do the right thing and leave a legacy worth remembering. This election would be a test of integrity for INEC, security agencies, Civil Society Organizations and other critical stakeholders in the Nigerian project,” he charged.
