Members of the World Evangelism Bible Church (WEBIC) recently rolled out the drums in Lagos to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the church.

The event, held at the church’s headquarters along Ogudu Road, Ojota, was attended by prominent guests and individuals, many of whom rejoiced and shared great testimonies of the milestones that kept the church alive for the past three decades.

Lagos State governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, decked in all-white attire and cap to match, expressed appreciation to God for being part of the event.

He said he was at the event to celebrate with the Founder and General Overseer of WEBIC, Prophet Samson Ayorinde, and all members of the church.

He stated also that WEBIC had, in the last 30 years, made great impact in Nigeria, as a church that has transited into a global ministry with members across the world.

In his opening remarks, Founder/General Overseer of WEBIC, Prophet Samson Ayorinde, expressed appreciation to God for being faithful to the church.

He declared that the event was a major milestone in the life of the church, adding that WEBIC’s journey in the last three decades was marked with joy, fulfillment and great testimonies.

The cleric stated also that the event was symbolic as it reflected the grace of God in the lives of all the members of the church.

Prophet Ayorinde described the 30th anniversary of the church as a turning of tide into the next phase. He said there was a need to thank God for the grace to celebrate the event.

The cleric explained further that as part of the programme of the event, the church would honour three of its members with awards as Pillars of Faith.

He explained that the awardees were carefully selected based on their contributions to the church and commitment to the service of God.

The three awardees, according to him, have been confirmed and they included Rev. Joseph Adewale Odewole, (Paul) Hon. Justice Doris Okuwobi (Rtrd) (Deborah) and Pastor Peter Agunbiade (Nehemiah).

He urged members of the church to continue to trust God and build on the spiritual foundation of Christ.

“God has used the three awardees in peculiar ways for the progress of the church. I know that we will all make heaven together as we worship and serve the lord together in the spirit.

“I see the celebration of the 30 years anniversary of the church as we have built the foundation, it is now for us to build on it and by the grace of God, and we shall all make it.”

Ayorinde also spoke on the alleged killings of Christians in Nigeria. The cleric said the death of one individual is already too much. He advised the Federal Government to ensure that there is food on the table of every individual in Nigeria and also empower the youth so that they would not be frustrated as it is now in the country.

He said the 30th anniversary of WEBIC was also meant to pray and mobilise the youth, so that they can be empowered and move the country forward.

“I believe that Nigeria will continue to have peace. Whether Christians, Muslims or the third – adherents of traditional religion, the Bible says every soul is important and our prayer is that all deaths, killings be stopped immediately in Jesus’ name.

“The youth are the future of this country, they are angry and I want to appeal to all the youth in this country that they should lay down their arms and join forces with the Federal Government to make this country great.

We will continue to pray for Nigeria and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for him to lead the country to the Promised Land.”

Guest Speaker and former Methodist Church Prelate, His Eminence Dr. Sunday Ola-Makinde said all Christians are one in Christ. The cleric pointed out that 30 years in the life of a church was a landmark that was worth celebrating.

He explained that some people cannot even celebrate five or ten years in the service of the Lord, but WEBIC has been growing from strength to strength.

Makinde applauded the founder of the church, describing him as a true prophet and committed man of God.

The cleric urged members of the church to continue to worship God in order to make heaven.

“The purpose of the church is for Christians to serve God with all their hearts. It does not profit us as Christians to gain the whole world and forfeit our souls.

“We need peace in Nigeria. I urge all Nigerians to embrace peace so that we can move the country forward. Peace is key to the progress of our nation, we don’t want war in Nigeria,” he cautioned.

Also in his remarks, the Onigbile of Ijebu Igbile in Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State, Oba Kolawole Abdul Salam said he was happy to be part of the event.

The royal father said he came personally to honour one of the awardees, an indigene of his town.

“I am impressed with the turnout of dignitaries at this event. I pray God to continue to bless the church with more people that are truly committed to the word of God,” the royal father said.

The 30th anniversary programme ended the following day- Sunday, November 9th with a thanksgiving service.

In his sermon with the theme: “Mantle 2025: The Overcomers,” Ayorinde said the youth convention would begin by August next year when all schools will be on the long vacation.

While highlighting the impact of the crusade, Ayorinde urged the youth to be involved in the crusade that would be coming up on November 28 at the Agege Stadium.

The thanksgiving service came to climax when dedicated members of the church were rewarded with cash gifts.

There was also a soccer competition organised among all the branches of the church and the three winners in the soccer competition got cash rewards for their exploits.
