Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) Presidential Campaign Council has said the All Progressives Congress ( APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu can be only win in February 25 presidential poll in the South West.
The Director, Voter Intelligence and Strategy, in the campaign council, Osita Chidoka, who stated this, at a press briefing, in Abuja,on Wednesday, said from all indications, the PDP candidate, Atiku Abubakar will the presidential poll..
Chidoka noted that like former President Shehu Shagari, Atiku will make a strong showing in all the states across the country and ultimately emerge winner of the presidential contest.
According to him, “all the polls have confirmed that Atiku Abubakar will win in the North-West and the North-East. I have not seen any poll that said otherwise. I have not seen any poll that said he will not be second in the South-East and probably win some states in the South-South.
“I have not seen any other poll that said that other than Lagos in the South-West and he is not the second in the South-West. So, while we have the candidate of the APC that may hold in the South-West, there is no other region where he will win, he doesn’t win the South-East, he doesn’t win the South South, he doesn’t win the North west, he doesn’t with the North-East,
“So he has no pathway to power. Infact the pathway to power in a two-way election even a three way election is that you must win four regions, to be able to make the 24 States, and FCT and win the majority of votes. If you go to the candidate of the APC, there is no region where he is holding sway.
“The North-West has about 30% of our voters in the country, the North East with about 15%. So 45% of the national votes have been set to be in favour of Atiku Abubakar.
“In the North-Central is very competitive, where ever he doesn’t win election like Niger, Nassarawa, he will be coming second, and in the South-East he will be coming second wherever he doesn’t win the election.
“In the South-South the same is the case, so his election is similar to President Shagari election who with 23% of the voters and become President because he was consistent in coming second to Awolowo, coming second to ZiK and then in critical states.
“Don’t forget Shagari ran election against Aminu Kano and Waziri Ibrahim. Shagari did not win 25% of the votes cast in kano because Aminu kano was running and I will tell you that Shagari did not win 10% in Lagos.”
Chidoka added the major opposition party is ready for Saturday’s contest, noting that the PDP candidate and his running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa, understands the plight of Nigerians and have engaged the citizens on their plans to address the challenges confronting the country.
“We have spent time and resources training all our agents across the 176,847 polling units. We have also trained all the agents in the 8,809 wards and 774 local governments. Our agents will ensure nobody your vote.
“We have campaigned across the length and breadth of the nation, and not just spoken to Nigerians about what our plans are, but listened to you tell us what problems you want us to solve for you,” he stated.
