Police warn supporters of political parties against breach of peace in Kano

Ahead of the judgement of the Supreme Court on Kano governorship elections, security chiefs in the state has warned the supporters of the New Nigeria People Party(NNPP) and All Progressives Congress ( APC) to desist from any conduct that would undermine the peace of the state.

Kano State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Usaini Gumel who briefed the press, Friday, on the outcome of the meeting. insisted that the police and sister-security agencies have mapped out strategies to ensure adequate security of lives and property in the state.

He recalled that they had foiled a number of plots by some faceless political pressure groups to fomenting trouble in the state.

He appreciated the leadership of both parties for maintaining their position on standing by the peace accord they entered some months ago

He appreciated the people of the state for their cooperation, support and understanding, “as the joint security agencies in the state will ever remain committed to the protection of the lives and property of all residents of the state.

In attendance at the meeting were the leadership of the both leading parties as well as some local government chairmen. End.
