Police nab 150 suspects, recover 100 unregistered motorcycles, firearms in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 150 suspects and recovered 100 unregistered motorcycles and firearms during a coordinated raid on criminal hideouts at Boolar, Okofilling Bus Stop, Igando, and other identified black spots within the Area M, Idimu axis of the state.

In a statement issued on Monday, command spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi disclosed that a joint team of operatives acting on credible intelligence conducted the raid on Sunday at about 5:45 a.m.

Adebisi said the raid, part of the command’s ongoing Operation KO S’AYE, was in furtherance of its sustained aggressive clearance operations against criminal hideouts across the state.

The statement reads, “The operation was aimed at flushing out hoodlums and other criminal elements terrorising the area.

“During the operation, a total of one hundred and fifty (150) suspects were arrested. Exhibits recovered include one hundred (100) unregistered motorcycles, fifty-four (54) mobile phones, one (1) double-barrel gun, two (2) single-barrel guns, one (1) locally made double-barrel short gun, two (2) military camouflage uniforms, assorted charms, six (6) generators suspected to have been stolen, substances suspected to be Indian-hemp and various quantities of illicit drugs.

“All the suspects are currently in Police custody, while investigations are ongoing to determine their individual culpability.

“Those found to have committed criminal offences will be charged to court accordingly.”

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the operatives for their professionalism and dedication to duty.

He reaffirmed the command’s unwavering commitment to the continued implementation of Operation KO S’AYE, stressing that the operation will be sustained across the State to deny criminals any safe haven and ensure the safety and security of all residents.

The CP also urged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information that will assist the police in identifying criminal hideouts, apprehending offenders, and enhancing public safety across Lagos State.
