Police clear local hunters purportedly offering security at Sanusi’s palace

Security agencies in Kano State have cleared the presence of local hunters and other irregular characters stationed around the premises of the Emir’s palace where Mohammed Sanusi II is currently resident.

Witnesses to Daily Sun that the local hunters who had mobilized themselves to the venue days ago apparantly to secure the palace elected to discharge themselves after a clear direcive by the police asking them to leave.

They started départing yesterday and were no longer present by Monday morning, said the witness.

In lieu of their presence, the police have deployed additional personnel to the two Emir’s palace to ensure the protection of law and order.

Speaking to reporters, the outgoing Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Usaini Gumel affirmed that they had indeed deployed additional policemen to the palaces of the two Emirs in the state.

Usaini Gumel explained that ,the deployment of the additional men aas aimed at preventing security threats at the two palaces.

“We deployed more personnel to provide security at the Kofar Kudu Palace, the residence of Emir Mallam Muhammadu Sanusi 11, and the Nasarawa Mimi Palace, the residence of Emir Aminu Bayero,”

He added that the police was committed to providing the required security that will enable all residents to pursue their legitimate activities without threats to lives and property.

Gumel appealed to the general public to support the police in the discharge of their duties, urging residents to provide information that could assist the command in maintaining peace, progress.
