A Nigerian, Okey Samuel, and his female friend, Q. Topista, have been arrested by police in Electronic City, Bengaluru, India, over alleged possession of 490 g of MDMA crystals and 43 g of cocaine worth ₹ 2.15 crore (about N355 million).

The Hindu Bureau reported on Tuesday that Okey, 34, and Topista, 27, were arrested by a police team following a tip-off.

They were reportedly waiting to deliver the consignment to their clients when they were caught red-handed.

The report quoted the police as saying the suspects sold the drugs to IT professionals and students.

According to the police, both suspects arrived in India in 2011 and overstayed their visas.

They were said to have forged travel documents to rent an apartment.
