EBERE WABARA, [email protected] 08055001948

A fortnight ago, I wrote an article here entitled “Blame Jonathan, not Buhari”. Even before I began my etymological architecture—during the conceptual stage—I knew that most ignorant readers of this column will advertise their pig-headed daftness by sending diseased short messaging services to me and a few brazen ones among them making infantile calls that bordered on bovine access to this marketplace of cerebral and profound ideas—not doggy vitriolics!

What I do not understand is the disgusting, deceptive and inexplicable obsession of most Igbo with the fossilizing PDP and former president Goodluck Jonathan. There is this fictive genealogical linkage of the ex-leader with the Igbo sub-nation. I do not know the reprehensible evolution of this ludicrous ascriptional belief. How many other Bayelsans have they claimed their brotherhood/sonship?

This duplicity subsists despite the morbid hatred of the Igbo by Rivers/Bayelsa indigenes. This is the same uncanny loathness that the Yoruba (with tangential exceptions) have towards us—the mutual pretensions notwithstanding! With the Hausa, you are at home. This is not ethnic bigotry, but hushed reality.

In all the years of the PDP before its historic power loss in 2015, what did it do for the South East and indeed Nigeria apart from systemic looting? Excluding the former taciturn governor of Enugu State, Barrister Sullivan Chime, who systematically transformed the state, which other of his peers can we reference with regard to good governance in the South East that remains the least developed and most indebted region (without any justificatory infrastructure, according to DMO) in the country because of its immediate-past governors’ kleptomaniac eight-year tenure? All their pre-occupation was propagandistic satiation, official terrorism, power inebriacy, systematic banditry, state-sponsored kidnappings and other governmental insurgencies. If God had allowed the murderous PDP to win last year, Nigeria would have collapsed by now. Because the party delusionally took it for granted that victory was certain, its thievish members embarked on financial haemorrhage of the national treasury, amid complicitous currency of shameless plea bargains (corruption consolidated)!

It is unfortunate that those who sent diatribes to me could ould not link the federal and state roguishness of the past administration to the exorbitant cost of everything in Nigeria today. Some of the respondents, who obviously do not understand the fundamentals of national economics and international financial management, also compared exchange rate in the past and now without any basic knowledge of the dynamics of monetary value, fiscal policies and global macro-economic developments. They think it is as mechanistic as pub/roadside/terminus economics!

I will unusually dignify few of the anonymous readers who cowardly sent me intemperate, uncouth and combative messages—instead of deep/mature intellectual engagement—with the unedited publication of their venomous tirades, which, in most cases, were deranged because of official information paucity and inevitable prevailing national poverty/hardship/excruciating times. Most of those who audaciously called muttered imbecilities. I am used to such telephonic idiocies hence I supersonically delete the brickbats or abort the vituperative calls. SMS senders or callers who are afraid to truly identify themselves—not pseudonyms— should not bother me.

The first asininity is from a certified baboon (08134150324): “Mr Ebere Wabara u are becoming a nuisance with this ur writeup the same way ur pay master (sic) grants unsolicited interviews about the Igbo’s (sic) thinking it (sic) will win him votes.” What is the correlation between this mongrel rascality and the subject under review? This is the worst bohemianism so far this year from a buffoon. Yet another crass irresponsibility and incurable insanity from the most stupefactious reader on earth (08095154379): ”Your ‘Blame Jonathan, not Buhari’, (sic) makes a very illogical reasoning. It is glaring that in a bid to please almighty (sic) Buhari in his nihilistic leadership, you become obsessively befuddled against sound reasoning. Is it Jonathan that is making a dollar to exchange for N400?; fuel at N145? Is it why Buhari has not constructed even a 100m road to show that he has been there for a whole (sic) one year? I believe you have worms in your head.” I will not waste further time and space with this faceless urchin except to refer the miscreant to the national dailies of May 30 for PMB’s scorecard.

What was specious in my presentation for anyone who had the competency and capacity to read between the lines? It is only a clown, like the owner of the above number, who can exemplify deviancy —not me. For this depraved mind not to show respect for PMB and clinically address issues raised on this platform is confirmatory of his moronic nature and symptomatic of questionable parentage and consequential improper upbringing. It is only a harebrained citizen, who shows utter disdain for his country’s leader by tomfooling with tantrums. It is only an off-wedlock offspring that can declare his birth illegitimacy by saying that I have worms in my head!

From 08055208423 comes the next stupidity: “For 1 (sic) yr, this govt didn’t tar a kilometer (sic) of road and u say we shld blame Jona? My friend, with what T. A. govt did in Abia, shld we blame it on O.U. Kalu? Please if you need a new job @ Aso Rock apply openly apply for it (sic). Is like (sic) the (sic) SUN staff are gud of (sic) riding to Aso Rock thru the paper. Tell them to STOP CRYING n face GOVERNANCE.” I can stake N2m cash that this half-educated small fry who uses the above number is not up to my wife’s graduate-driver in all aspects of life.

This is one of the drawbacks of column writing: every tiny tot interjects and you cannot stop such mites! Why should we blame Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu for T. A. Ahamefule’s eight-year amnesic ingratitude, unprecedented political prodigality, unparalleled squandermania, Gestapo-like abductions with pre-meditated fatalistic instincts, vicious regime of holistic dastardliness and the worst governance in human history?

If this brat knows the intellectuality and career antecedents of most management staff of The Sun, he will not make such preposterous insinuations that smack of pedestrianism and juvelinity about Otunba Femi Adesina’s present job and possible similar prospects for any of us even beyond Aso Rock, including the global arena. It is evident this ranting numbskull (08055208423) is a mature fool from a broken home. Space constraint will not allow us to accommodate all the multitudinous papooses who contributed, as we take the last set of bambinos and cherubs who commented like typical striplings (09091270898; 08030861967; 0817402915; 08060177736; 08130088965; & 09030531367: all fearfully anonymous). I would have loved to explicate the scurrilous messages by the shallow and silly owners of the aforelisted numbers but….

Truly, it is best we “suffer” transiently now and later enjoy interminably than the obverse. Calumnies and armchair hypercriticisms cannot obviate anything, but diminish the malicious purveyors and other blissful ignoramuses.
