PEWAN holds confab to address waste management in Nigeria

To contribute in making Nigerian environment conducive for human habitation, the Property and Environment Writers Association of Nigeria (PEWAN) has slated its Annual Lecture to address waste management in the country.

The 2025 Annual Lecture & Awards billed to hold on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 has the former Lagos State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Olutoyin Ayinde, as the Chairman while Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, the Managing Director of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) will present the Keynote address.

In a statement signed PEWAN’s Chairman, Mrs. Okwy Iroegbu -Chikezie, the event will be themed: “The place of Waste Management in relation to Lagos State Government’s THEME + Agenda.”

According to the statement, the Lecture which will take place at NECA House in the Central Business District (CBD) of Alausa, Ikeja, starting at 10am will have speakers like Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, General Manager of the Lagos Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), and Dr. Aladeleba Adesina Emmanuel from Yaba College of Technology among others.

The lecture will address critical issues related to environmental sustainability in Lagos, with a specific focus on Air Quality Management and Sustainability in modern housing and urban development.

The highlight of the event Mrs. Iroegbu-Chikezie revealed will be awards to firms and individuals for their various contributions to environmental sustainability in Nigeria in general.
