Former Nigeria Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles defender Peter Ogaba is dead.
According to the assistant training officer of the FCT Coaches Association, Kenny Owojori, Ogaba lost his life on Thursday in Abuja after a brief illness.
Ogaba rose to prominence in 1987, when at 13 he was the youngest player on the Nigeria team to the 1987 FIFA U17 World Cup in Canada.
He will also go on to feature at the 1989 FIFA U20 World Cup in Saudi Arabia, where Nigeria posted an amazing comeback win over the Soviet Union in ‘The Miracle of Damman’ before reaching the championship final against Portugal.
He will then play professionally in Portugal and France.
Before his death he was coach of Abuja club City Strikers.
