The Peoples Democratic  Party (PDP) have pulled out of the January  16th  Local Government Elections in Kano State , saying the umpire and the government of Abdullahi  Umar Ganduje has no capacity or moral authority to superintend a credible and fair election exercise.
Caretaker  Chairman of the Peoples Democratic  Party in the state, Danladi Abduhamid Kagari disclosed this on Tuesday during  a press conference held at the party’s secretariat in the state.
” Our party , the Peoples Democratic  Party (PDP)  reminiscent  of the conduct  of the  2019 general elections have carefully studied  the process and come to the conclusion that the APC led government  has grossly undermined  the independence of the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission ( (KANSIEC) and  therefore lacks the moral.impetus to superintend any elections.” he stated.
He said the People Democratic  Party ( PDP)  cannot forget in a hurry  how Govenor Ganduje  and the APC , in connivance  with electoral officials and political  thigs as well as security  agents intimidated voters  and disenfranchised the people of.Kano State.
The Chairman  also raised the alarm that the amount of N2.3 billion allocated for the said election was nind – bugging saying they would not  partake in an exercise that is aimed siphoning the resources  of the state
They placed on record that their overwhemlning prospects of victory was not on doubt in the January elections but affirmed but said that a government that practical stole itself to.power through violence  and manipulation stood no chance  of guaranteeing victory for the
opposition without resort to further violence.
.
The party therefore urged their.party men and women to remain calm and resolute and continue to Allah for the restoration of the  dignity and  prosperity of the good people of the state.
