The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State has unveiled its campaign schedule for the 2027 elections, with activities set to begin with three days of fasting, prayer and a solemn assembly from November 5 to 7.
The party also warned candidates, supporters and political actors against violence, personal attacks and inflammatory utterances, urging them to ensure that the 2027 electoral season is conducted peacefully and responsibly.
The schedule includes a thanksgiving service on November 8, the inauguration of the State Campaign Council on November 9, senatorial district flag-offs and ward-to-ward mobilisation across the state’s 105 wards.
The party’s Publicity Secretary, Ikaebimo Mark, said in a statement that the programme would provide an organised platform for candidates to engage voters, present their plans and discuss challenges facing their constituencies.
According to a copy made available to journalists, the activities also cover statutory party meetings and pre-campaign engagements.

Mark said the campaign would centre on issues, policies, development priorities and the welfare of the people, urging candidates, supporters and campaign officials to exercise discipline, tolerance and respect throughout the electoral process.
The party, under the leadership of George Turnah, assured residents and political stakeholders that its activities would be conducted peacefully and responsibly, with respect for the law and the rights of other participants.
“The Party called on its candidates, supporters and campaign officials to demonstrate discipline, tolerance and respect throughout the electoral process, noting that political competition should never become a threat to peaceful coexistence,” the statement said.
It also urged political actors to make the elections an opportunity for voters to assess candidates on their ideas, programmes, records and ability to address public concerns.
“The Party also appealed to all political actors and citizens to make the 2027 electoral season an opportunity for constructive democratic engagement, where candidates are judged by their ideas, programmes, records and capacity to address the concerns of the people.”
The PDP said it remained committed to a campaign that would allow Bayelsans to listen, ask questions, compare positions and make informed choices on issues affecting their lives and communities.
