Dr. MacFarlane Ejah, the Vice Chairman of the Cross River State African Democratic Congress (ADC), has said a bloc dominated by members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was fuelling crisis in the party.
He disclosed this while addressing issues bordering on the launch of a membership, mobilisation, registration and revalidation (MMRR) drive by some persons linked to the ADC.
According to him, “We condemn the actions of individuals who are not members of our party but are attempting to hold meetings in our name.
“It is on record that except for a group largely composed of dissatisfied members of the PDP bloc, every other group has been working harmoniously with the ADC.
“The MMRR composition is dominated by the PDP people who have not resigned from their party. The process of registration is clear, if you want to register, go to your ward and register.
“The planned inauguration of the MMRR by a group unknown to the state leadership is an affront to the leadership structure of a party that is constitutionally recognised,” he said.
He also accused organisers of the membership drive of going all out to hijack the leadership of the party, saying they would not tolerate it.
He condemned actions of the people he claimed were not members of their party but were trying to hold meetings and activities in their name, saying, “it’s democratically unacceptable.”
Dr. Ejah also insisted that the Cross River ADC has no faction and operates strictly in accordance with the party.
