The camp of Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami has urged supporters to remain calm after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) omitted his name from its list of candidates following a fresh Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary in Gombe State.

In a statement posted on Pantami’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Saturday, 10 October 2026, the camp said its legal and liaison teams were engaging relevant party organs and INEC to address the omission within the period allowed by law.

The fresh primary, held on 29 September, followed an order by the Federal High Court. However, Pantami’s name did not appear on the INEC list, raising concerns among his supporters in the PDP and the Pantamiyya Movement across Gombe State and beyond.

The statement, signed by Professor Suleiman Mohammed Gombe, described the development as a temporary challenge rather than a final determination, expressing confidence that the matter would be resolved.

“We wish to assure all our supporters to remain calm, steadfast, and hopeful,” the statement said.

It added that the camp was working to ensure compliance with the court’s order and secure a correction within the period provided by law.

The statement also alleged that unnamed individuals were working behind the scenes to frustrate what it described as good and responsible leadership in Gombe State, but did not identify those allegedly involved or provide evidence to support the claim.

The camp urged supporters to sustain their mobilisation and remain focused on its stated commitment to service to humanity.

It further maintained that the PDP and the Pantamiyya Movement remained united and committed to the “rescue and emancipation” of the people, despite the development.

The statement did not specify the legal or administrative measures being pursued to secure Pantami’s inclusion on the list.

INEC and the PDP leadership had yet to publicly respond to the concerns raised in the statement as of the time of reporting.
