PalmPay takes fight against digital banking fraud to Kano

PalmPay, one of Nigeria’s financial institutions, yesterday took the fight against digital banking fraud to the streets of the ancient city of Kano.

The seven-kilometre awareness walk, led by the Managing Director of PalmPay, Chika Reginald Nwosu, took off from their office at Race Course Road and terminated at the Ibrahim Taiwo by Civic Centre Junction.

Addressing the media at the end of the sensitisation walk, Nwosu noted that the initiative was part of the company’s anti-fraud campaign aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s digital financial ecosystem.

He remarked that PalmPay was committed to ensuring that Nigerians are safe from scammers who exploit digital banking platforms to steal from unsuspecting victims.

“We want a very healthy financial ecosystem. Our goal is to eliminate fraud and ensure that no PalmPay user becomes a victim,” he said.

He urged users of digital banking platforms to exercise caution when interacting with digital links and unsolicited messages, warning that many fraud attempts begin with fake links circulated on social media.

“Whenever you see a link on any social media platforms or your phone, verify it before you click. Any link that you don’t trust, please don’t open it,” he stated.

He also cautioned their customers and Nigerians in general against sharing their sensitive banking details such as PIN or OTPs with anyone.
