Oyo State House of Assembly candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) Egbeda constituency, Jide Falade, has promised to better the lots of his constituents with socio-economic development if elected.

He said he joined the race to give effective representation to the constituents and counselled that electioneering should be on the candidate’s ability to deliver on electoral promises and party manifestoes, “rather than how much money a political party or candidate can offer on election day.”

Falade urged party members to obtain their permanent voters’ card (PVC) to enthrone credible leaders in 2023.

He said the hardship flowing from the country’s socio-economic crisis affected all Nigerians, irrespective of party, religious or ethnic affiliations.

“We must work together to ensure we end the socio-economic crisis, as it cannot be resolved through methods, that exclude other stakeholders,” he said.

On the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the APC presidential candidate, he said: “It is the best option for Nigeria at the moment and a strategy to win the election.”

He argued that religion should not be criteria for performance in office, “electorate should shun religious acrimony and sentiments. Good candidate and performance should be our yardstick in the interest of a united, peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.”
